Professor Roger D. Sell Emeritus H.W. Donner Professor of Literature as Communication English Language and Literature Åbo Akademi University, Finland Honorary President of FILLM Founder and Series Editor of FILLM Studiens in Languages and Literatures Roger has published widely on several different periods of English and American literature, and has developed an account of literature as one among other forms of communication. Some of his main single-authored publications are Literature as Communication: The Foundations of Mediating Criticism (Benjamins, Amsterdam and Philadelphia, 2000), Mediating Criticism: Literary Education Humanized (Benjamins, Amsterdam and Philadelphi, 2001), and Communicational Criticism: Studies in Literature as Dialogue (Benjamins, Amsterdam and Philadelphia, 2011). He has also edited and co-edited several collections of literary-communicational studies, most recently Literature as Dialogue: Invitations Offered and Negotiated (Benjamins, Amsterdam and Philadelphia, 2014). Ongoing work includes an edition of the complete poems of Sir John Beaumont (d. 1627), to be published by Oxford University Press. Roger served as FILLM President from 2011-2014.
