30th International FILLM Congress -Melbourne 2026

We are delighted to share that the 30th International Congress of FILLM will be hosted by the Australasian Universities Languages and Literature Association (AULLA) at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, from 8th to 11th December 2026.
The theme for this highly anticipated event is "Talking Country", which will focus on the deep connections between language, literature, and the concept of place. "Talking Country" invites discussions on how languages and literatures engage with landscapes, cultures, and identities, particularly through the lens of Indigenous perspectives and their understanding of country, belonging, and storytelling.
This congress will provide an exciting platform for scholars from across the globe to come together and exchange ideas on topics such as place-making, multilingualism, cultural narratives, and the role of literature in shaping communities.
We invite scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts in linguistics and literature to mark their calendars and prepare to contribute to the Call for Papers, which will be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates on registration, submissions, and program details.
We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne in 2026 for a memorable gathering of global minds and meaningful discussions. Let’s talk country together!
