Recent News News Archive | Report on the 31st Conference of the IASS | 15.9.2016 | The 31st conference of the International Association for Scandninavian Studies (IASS) took place at the University of Groeningen (Netherlands) from9-13 August 2016. The theme was "Transit Norden och Europa". Chair of the organizing committee and secretary of IASS, Petra Broomans says of the conference: "The IASS committee looks back on a successful conference which attracted 110 participants. Seven key notes and 77 papers (23 sessions) were presented. There were also literary activites with six Nordic writers: Monika Fagerholm (Finland), Ann-Hélen Laestadius (Sweden), Mikael Niemi (Sweden), Steinunn Sigurdardóttir (Iceland), Sigbjørn Skåden (Norway) and Pia Tafdrup (Denmark). "The organizing committee is grateful for the support of the Nordic embassies, cultural and scientific organisations in Scandinavia and the Netherlands as well as the University of Groningen."
