FILLM News

Congratulations to CIPSH

The International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH)
turned 70 in January and below you can read CIPSH Secretary-General Luiz Ossterbeek's reflections on the current state of the council and the Humanities in general.

FILLM is a member of CIPSH and through the council also of UNESCO. The two organizations have a long traditions of collaboration which most recently resulted in Luiz Oosterbeek's contribution at the FILLM Symposium in Vienna, Austria in July 2018 on theme "The Contribution of Learned Societies to the Humanities: Past, Present, and Future".

FILLM would like to take this opportunity to congratulate CIPSH. We hope that the next seventy years will be prosperous and that our corporation will continue to be fruitful.

FILLM Book Series
FILLM Studies in Languages and Literatures
The 9th volume in the FILLM Book Series, FILLM Studies in Languages and Literatures (John Benjamins), is now out. The book is an edited volume with the title Where Is Adaptation? Mapping Cultures, Texts, and Contexts. It is edited by Casie Hermansson and Janet Zepernick (both Pittsburg State University).

May we recommend that you also check out the series's back catalogue. It  includes many interesting titles.

Below you'll notice that the Series Editor, Roger D. Sell, is very interested in receiving typescripts which fit the overall aims of the series. He is especially keen to get more proposals with linguistic, philological and pedagogical topics.

Note also that members of FILLM's Member Associations are entitled to a 30% discount on volumes in the FILLM Book Series.
