Call for Papers for FILLM's 28th Congress
University of Vienna
Also in the volume of the newsletter do we want to draw your attention to the Call for Papers for the next FILLM Congress. The Congress will be held at the University of Vienna, Austria from 26-29 July 2020 and is organized by FILLM Vice-President Dr. Adams Bodomo.

The overall theme of the Congress is "
Linguistic, Literary and Cultural Diversity in a Global Perspective". FILLM and the Congress organizers now invite scholars to submit individual paper proposals as well as panel proposals that address this broad theme. Individual papers and panels are also invited that address one of the following five sub-themes (which are ultimately related to the main theme):
  • Multilingualism and linguistic plurality in local and global perspectives
  • New genres of literature in the era of social media and new communication technologies
  • Cultural diversity in film
  • Linguistic and literary studies in diaspora and migrant communities
  • German language and literature in global perspectives

For more detailed information, please read the entire Call for Papers. It can be downloaded here.

The deadline for submitting abstracts (both individual and panels) is 31 December 2019.

To allow speakers sufficient time to acquite the necessary funding, the Congress organizers will assess the abstracts as they come in. Acceptance letters will be sent out on 31 July 2019, 30 September 2019, 30 November 2019 and 31 January 2020.
