Volume 8 | September 2016

Next Volume

The next volume of The FILLM Newsletter will come out on 15 December 2016. If you would like to contribute to the newsletter or have some information for us to include, please send a message to aborch@abo.fi (Deadline: 1 December 2016).

Erratum

Please note that in the previous volume of the FILLM Newsletter we wrote that the deadline for submitting abstracts for ALFAL's 18th Congress in Bogotá, Colombia is 30 March 2017. This was incorrect. As you can also see below, the actual deadline is 24 November 2016. We apologise if this has caused any inconveniences.

FILLM News

The Modern Language Association joins FILLM!
The Modern Language Association
We're extremely pleased to announce that The Modern Language Association (better known as the MLA, of course) has joined FILLM. Perhaps, it's more accurate to say that the MLA rejoins FILLM after a few years' absence. Either way, though, we're very happy to have the MLA as part of our community and we're sure their membership will be of great benefit to everyone involved with FILLM.

The MLA hardly needs introduction, but if you would still like to know a bit about the association you can find a brief introduction on the FILLM website alongside a few words of welcome from FILLM President Meenakshi Bharat.

If you want to know more than that, we strongly recommend that you check out the MLA's own highly useful website.

Finally, we would like to point out here that the MLA will be represented on the FILLM Committee by its Executive Director, Rosemary G. Feal.
