Call for Applications: CIPSH Chairs Programme

FILLM is pleased to share the announcement of the CIPSH Chairs Programme, an initiative of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH). This prestigious programme aims to strengthen global research networks in the humanities and to highlight the vital role of humanistic scholarship in contemporary society.

CIPSH Chairs bring together established research centres around a shared thematic focus, led by a designated chairholder and supported by a team of associates within the host institution and, ideally, partner institutions in other countries. Interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged. Each chair is appointed for an initial period of five years, with the possibility of renewal following a positive evaluation.

The programme complements existing initiatives such as the UNESCO Chairs, while offering its own distinctive emphasis on the humanities and their international visibility.

Applications are open until March 31, 2026 (5:00 pm CET). Selection results will be announced by July 31, 2026, and newly appointed chairs will be inaugurated from August 1, 2026.

Researchers and institutions interested in advancing collaborative, cross‑border humanities scholarship are warmly invited to apply.
